Tires & Wheels – Stage 1

August 20, 2022 5:51 pm

I took the wheels off thinking I was going to run over to Cycle Gear and buy some new tires. New tires – what could go wrong?

I had to soak a couple rear brake rotor bolts in PB Blaster overnight because I couldn’t get them off.

One came off with a cheater bar. I stripped the other.

Fortunately I had my extractor bits from the front diff drain bolt trouble on the 4Runner.

Then I looked at the wheels and thought I could clean them up pretty quickly.

I was wrong. Elbow grease barely put a dent in the filth.

But at least they’re off and ready for new tires and bearings.
